Build smarter, scalable Canvas apps by creating a real-world Task Management solution in Power Apps connected to a SharePoint (Work Tracker) list. You’ll learn how to design galleries and forms, implement filtering (including delegation considerations), and write back to SharePoint using Patch and bulk update patterns.
This pathway is hands-on and trainer-led. You’ll improve app performance with collections and OnStart logic (including Concurrent), calculate key metrics using Named Formulas and variables, and apply UI/UX enhancements like validation, notifications, and safe delete prompts the stuff that makes an app feel “production-ready” instead of “weekend prototype.”
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Build a Task Management (Work Tracker) Canvas app connected to a SharePoint list
- Connect and work with multiple data sources, then bind galleries and controls confidently
- Implement filtering using Combo Boxes and understand delegation warnings and limits
- Use Named Formulas and variables (screen, global, and formula variables) for dynamic calculations
- Update data using Patch, bulk updates with ForAll, and sync changes back to SharePoint
- Improve performance using collections, caching, and Concurrent loading patterns
Prerequisite:
Participants should have intermediate Excel skills and a basic understanding of Power Apps, including experience creating simple Canvas apps (controls, screens, and formulas) or completion of the Power Apps Beginner course.
