This course is ideal for professionals who create, edit or review written content in business, government or technical settings. You do not need a technical writing background. A willingness to write, edit and learn is all that’s required.
Do I need writing experience to join this course?
No prior writing experience is necessary. The course supports learners at all levels, including those who are new to structured or professional writing.
Does this course cover writing for digital formats?
Yes. You will learn how to write for web and digital platforms. This includes how to apply WCAG 2.2 accessibility principles to headings, links, tables, forms and error messages.
Is this course aligned to any standards or policies?
Yes. The course aligns with WCAG 2.2 (AU and NZ), the Australian Government Style Manual, New Zealand’s Plain Language guidance and both countries’ responsible AI policies for public sector professionals.
What is responsible AI use in writing?
The course teaches how to use AI tools for outlining, drafting and editing with human oversight. You will also learn how to include a brief AI-use disclosure to maintain transparency and meet compliance requirements.
Will I receive templates and tools?
Yes. You will receive reusable templates, checklists and practical tools. These include a WCAG 2.2 checklist, AI prompt templates and disclosure examples you can apply in your workplace.
How is the course delivered?
The course is delivered live by a qualified instructor. You can join in person at one of our training centres or attend remotely from anywhere in Australia or New Zealand.
Is there an assessment?
Yes. You will complete a capstone project that includes a technical brief, a short document, a web page and a long-document outline. Each submission will include a short AI-use disclosure where relevant.
